The American Parkinson Disease Association’s new campaign to Ease the Burden – Find the Cure
Our Goal: To raise $1 million dollars for the 1 million people living with Parkinson’s disease today. That’s $1 per patient to advance APDA’s mission to Ease the Burden – Find the Cure for Parkinson’s disease.
Our ability to provide the services and programs that are desperately needed is directly linked to our donors’ generous support. We depend on people and organizations like you to make this initiative possible, and every dollar helps.
What $1 Million Can Do
The $1 Million for 1 Million campaign will help APDA expand our efforts – and take advantage of new and emerging technologies and promising new research avenues – to meet the needs of the increasing number of PD patients.
Programs that will be supported include:
- Health and Wellness initiatives that will support the delivery of signature exercise programs to be delivered throughout the APDA network.
- Education and Communication programs to broadly serve the Parkinson’s community and offer the level of support needed for a disease that becomes the main event in day-to-day functioning and quality of life.
- Expediting the pace of research funding to support the most promising new clinical approaches in search of a cure.
- Playing a leading role in launching the careers of young physicians and scientists dedicated to working on Parkinson’s disease as well as help bring promising new investigators into the field, many of whom are in the postdoctoral stages of their careers.
